Abnormal Normality

Abnormal Normality

A Poem by C. Michael Kirre

Slightly off,

normal abnormality.

Somewhat as it should be,

abnormal normality

Blue-tac on a rose and

descent black robes.

Mona Lisa by Picasso or

Pick a Lasso by the Ministry of Truth.

A Line in the sand

washed away by the sea.

Forever changing landscapes

stay the same.

Normality is a definition.

Abnormality is lunging yourself

off the beaten track

running naked in the woods.

Can we accept both?

Strange but known

elements in a new configuration.

Tweak it gently

until it’s right.

Blood on a white dress.

As it should be,

given the right circumstance.

Dead roses at a wedding.

Dragons and butterflies.

Musical chairs singing

the anthem of the beavers.

Ghosts of greatness haunting.

Enough abnormality

creates normality.

Challenge the definitions.

Doves carrying rulers.

I've absorbed enough abnormality from this to be thrown in for one, quite normal, loop. I enjoyed this write greatly! Keep at 'em.
