The Lies in HistoryA Poem by PhilaneThis is simply a poem looking at the common education in schools about events in the past and how I believe that the education we give to our kids is flawed no matter the country.
Pardon me everyone,
But I must make a statement, It will be surprising to admit, That the Dark Age did shine. And I know, that you, dear culture, Have a commitment with Ancient Greece and Athens, And all the eurocentrism shows you might now say some lies about the Vikings living on the Rhine. All hail Sparta with its slaves, And all hail Athens, all f**k the rights of their women. All hail the Greek city-states, Which are what paved and paves The strict class boundaries and the idea, The noble's virtuous, the peasant stupid, the slave born so, the women tools of men. The Dark Ages, oh so dark. Nothing much changed in the poor one's life. But that's in Europe, China and the Muslim world were growing like the big white shark. The Muslims copied the Greek texts, who, though oh so wrong in everything seemed to help, And admit it! You've never heard of the battle of Tales, it's importance and strife. Do you even know, how life really moves on. No fancy Greece, no "Go West Team!" no ignorant ages to be seen. Do you really think that the medieval peasant in Italy in the medieval times was any dumber than the ancient one? The oh so virtuous Greeks to them, virtue and birth status were what made you good or broken. You might disagree, but I hope you now see The other side of history.
