becoming a butterflyA Poem by Phibby VenableThere is a mutual understanding in cocoons,
a gamble of win or lose. It is a tightly woven world of perspiration, hardened on the outside until the butterfly is ready - until color bursts through tight openings, unsteady in new landing gear. There are predators that pick apart
the sticklike covering, pondering the dull morsel, unaware that beauty sleeps naked inside the ugly skin of camoflauge It is a miracle and magic that you ever awaken. Bright one, there is a mutual understanding
that you will fly toward flowers, sip dew like a delicacy and swoon the open beauty of jasmine and blue. It is an unpredictable long shot but it may come true. © 2011 Phibby VenableReviews
