in this harbor

in this harbor

A Poem by Phibby Venable

My heart harbors in the dunes of this time.
With the ease of crossing water I touch
the curved memories of your life,
a lighthouse that beams brightly.
Although the ocean is dark,
the sea hungry and spitting foam,
my heart is guided by one light.
I leap angled mounds of rock
uplifting my arms in salted wind.
The sea brings your aura
to the dark beach again.

Short and very sweet. I like the entire work. The natical way of bringing the shore to earth. Great image. I though in a few places that it was repetitive but still held its own through. Good read.

A lovey recollection.. the images of the sea creating a feeling of wildness and distance... and yet the aura remains...
