Lazy Day at the Beach

Lazy Day at the Beach

A Poem by Phibby Venable
"

I am having one of those prolific days due to high stress..which means I have to write. may not be very good, but I am very glad to have you all out there...makes me feel lots less lonely!

"

Lazy Day at the Beach

a short way to the sea, then I find you,
rising up from underneath a wave
shaking beaded hair, squinting your eyes
against the broad chest of a forceful sun
as some blue footed booby whistles fish
up for his group of divers hovering near
you stroll up on the sand in ragged jeans
& stand as though you claim and own the beach
a dozen species scurry at your feet
some unseen, if not for the moving sand
a nearby girl's appraisal turns your head
& you maintain a striking pose with ease
until I run up fast and punch your arm
to say breakfast is ready, and your charm
will not be filling for the day we face
of wandering aimlessly most every place!

Good writing, creating good pictures without overdoing it - and enjoyable to boot. I am that man. As are most.
