I am attending this one mass
to bring what you brought first to me
to give you back the gift of these,
an arm of prayers, a hand of hope,
I chose from my assorted clouds
Here is my veil of honeyed lace
Here are the beads, a twisted mess
A pathological string of flowers,
a blue gill in the deep, green pond.
A pianist hidden in the grass.
A poem I clenched for your embrace.
Frequent and steadfast in my youth,
a young attendant to the throne
I dropped my head across your chest
I bronzed my knees with my requests.
It wasn't just when I was sick
It wasn't when my life was bad
I came to visit all the time
I came to you till I was heard,
I wore you out with the absurd,
but you indulged me with your love.
Now I bring stitches, flat and dark,
a spirit of fear, short hands in flame.
There is a hawthorn on my leg.
A stark bleak swarm of buzzing bees
surround the wild flowers on the lane.
Do you remember who I am?
Hmm..you say..now let me think..
A baby's kiss, a wild child's plan,
to run away, live off the land,
A love of horses, a drama queen,
a soft spot for a sad man's dream
Born in May, and quite robust
a love for dogs & children's trust
A bookworm longing for romance
Never afraid to take a chance..
Is that familiar? Is it you?
I laugh and say, yes, all that's true!
And don't forget..I love to dance!
Ok, you say, now take this light
and press it into your left side
Don't be afraid to make mistakes
Don't be afraid to trust your fate
Take these spring bulbs and fling them south
Take golden days and wear them out
Take my belief in how you try
I'll give you points, I'll let things slide
Bring me yourself, for good or bad,
I like to watch things from your eyes.
Very cleverly put Phibby...I'm sure the Lord enjoyed this one immensely!
I wish there was a really dedicated...ACTIVE...board on this site devoted soley to the Lord. After all...he did give us the talent to write in the first place...let us praise his name unashamedly!!
It's cleverly put, but I almost marvel at how you could vary the tone, so that it is a celebration of life and all that this contains, it's dangerous subject matter too since it's all too easy to slip into the realms of cliche, or seeming overly kind as we sometimes are in our words to the dead. Banging rhyme and crafting.

A lifetime of dialogue with The Almighty. In good times and in bad, I strive for that, I try to live what you have put so beautifully into words. You must be a very happy lady, to share your joys with God and to lie your worries at his throne.

And that is why I let God decide.
Wow This is one amazing write, especially these lines here, I really enjoyed your write, I can feel truth in this. Penned with magic from your pen.
