Small Morning Poem

Small Morning Poem

A Poem by Phibby Venable

small morning poem

I heard a whisper where I walked
along the suspect road of loss
I saw a winter moon enshroud
itself in gray & lonely clouds
And in the midnight path of self
I shoved at stones that blocked my route
I felt the depth of winter's cold
and questioned solitude alone
I heard a whisper where I walked
It was the morning, packing day,
speaking with her colleague, Sun,
as all the stars set out for home.

Really,a lovely account of whisper between the morning with Sun.
Wondering why it not heard in 4 years!

Has just a wee bit of the feel of a fable or ancient myth about it. Wonderfully paced, fine imagery. A truly fine piece of writing.
