I place you in a firmament and you fall out a cornucopia of good intentions that stray sideways and spill into this rural setting Together we meander into the opaque morning where I try to pray mellifluous against the lassitude of uncertainty that rambles into view When the fog rises in contrast to the mountains, and the world simmers with sultry openings You give me a significant look I grow lucid and earnest - I will not stay on earth and you will not stay in the sky but we believe in each other because the paradisiacal morning insists on the luminous, on illuminating promises that we both mean to keep And you are a thousand planets and a grinning moon and I am a star struck earthy person pointing out my simple wounds and we are dancers, a little uncertain of the other's moves but gliding on the promises of tremulous caring Till you are God, governor, good luck charm, and I am staring in awe at the magnificence of your arms
holy guacomole, Phibby!
fantastic from start to finish
especially the latter!
I love the clarity of phrases
like "pointing out my simple wounds"
you're flowing fluidly in a wave
who's amplitude traces the edges
between the earth and sky
running it's fingers nonchalantly
along its quasi-visible borders
the frequencies, the melody
just absolutely magestic
I truly apologize to myself and you and God
for my truancy from your page
my stay at the cafe has been a wandering
through the wilderness, not unlike Moses
who I portrayed in a school musical
but the journey leads you somewhere cool
like this amazing landscape..thank you
I am very intrigued by this poem, at first thought it seemed to be about a mother thankful for the child they hadn't planned to have... by the end I thought of someone who is in awe of the almighty one.
