wearing dark glasses

wearing dark glasses

A Poem by Phibby Venable

she changes fast, unfazed by an opinion
held yesterday
it is a roller coaster catch up to remember
what she loves today
fey wings whisper her into the sky
as she hovers uncertain, and listening
sometimes I want to anchor words on her lips,
scream like an imbecile for clarity,
jerk the emergency stop and reflect
on footholds and managing,
the far away glimpse of fortitude
disappearing around turns

A gut reaction is usually the correct one until you think too much about it...
your poetry is always so profound.
