How many ways you can say goodbye

How many ways you can say goodbye

A Poem by Ashes
"

You could have died in my arms, but you left on the corner of 9th

"

Words exchanged the night before
etched in to memory like your smile
as you cried when we were young

You couldn't be my best friend (in the whole wide world I swear)
and dad was around enough to f**k us up
let's not even touch mom

The flowers mean purity
at least to the lady at the stand outside of Ace
though the dirt still clung to them
though the rain was washing away your name

I could say you were special
but that was a lie
you were just you
standing beside me when there should have been tears

Don't think this is an ode
I don't do that and you don't deserve one
(that's written by trembling hands with bleary eyes)
just rest behind your headstone like everyone does

I'll leave the images with the mud
washing away from here...
you
and it doesn't really matter
(why would she care?)

Author's Note

Ashes
I'm being all bipolar moody and missing my older brother. Hence the sappiness and brooding, movie scene after thoughts

This is very boring, I didn't like it at all. It also seems awkward, like you didn't know what you were talking about. Perhaps you should use my writing course? You need it badly.
