Two pills

Two pills

A Poem by Ashes
"

Pop two pills for all your problems

"

Pop two pills in one go,

one for anxiety,

another for the rest of your emotions

giving you a sense of fake control.

The heavy rock tunes blare in the background

singing the praises of the minority

while revealing in the majority

as you walk in an unlit room

like the dead between the pews

of a forsaken church.

Pop two pills in one go,

one to make you happy,

one to make you numb

and they both give a false sense of control.

Life can just be one more excuse

to live to the next day

never really knowing

what’s up or down,

or if black and white

is really all that’s right to think.

So you take two pills in one go

one’s for anxiety

the other to make you numb

to give them the real control

Yeah, I feel that way about medication, that they have the control. That's why I don't like medicine. Cool poem.
