Brun up

Brun up

A Poem by Ashes
"

It's better to fight in chains than bow down unbound

"

They say can't do much else

too many kids have gone down the same road

only burned up though

Well encase you didn't notice

we've already got burn marks on our fingertips

broken lips bleeding down our skin

and broken, twice repaired souls

so burning up

it don’t seem so bad

when hells seen us one to many times

Resistance is futile

but futility’s better

than certain complacency,

slavery,

and we’ll take it with our charcoaled hands

to prove it wasn’t really ours

or yours

but theirs

And all this will burn us up

but our fingers are blackened

and burning up’s not all that bad

when the damage has already been done

and the trigger’s been pulled on the gun

you held back than.
