Bend and break

Bend and break

A Poem by Ashes
"

You can bend me and break me, but I'm still not yours

"

Bend me

Shape me

Twist me

F**k me

you can’t break me

since I’ll smile as I fall

to be built back-up with rhinestones and glue.

I can bend

like the best of gymnasts

with the will as strong as a balancing beam

that you stumble and fall on

You can shape me all you want

like pottery clay

but I pick the colors

and they will not pacify

your palette of black and white

because I’m no longer more fragile

than I am agile

So bend me

twist me

you won’t break me

as I lean away from the tide

and you just try and understand me

to stay ahead

but fall behind.

Just try and break me

I’ll still smile as I fall

because I bend not break
