Author's Lament

Author's Lament

A Poem by Pharos
"

dried up tears on written paper...

"

Putting down the pen, with a long satisfied sigh
I told myself, " It's done "
as memories rushed inside,
nostalgia took over all of my being.

A picture played inside the mind
a warm weather of yesterday
and a familiar face that was always seen everyday
smile, they broke a smile with sudden laughter's.

The sunlight gave out a radiant glow
as a wind passed by swaying the trees
that made the shadow dance and a rustling sound
it was peaceful...

Their was no one around but that person
with nothing but her clumsy smile
she leaped as her red scarf flattered mid air
embracing the person in front of her.

Feeling her buried face in my chest
she complained
" You're too tall, but it's alright!"
she teased and laughed.

The scenery around started to change
a familiar place was in the background
" Do you still make paper planes? "
her voice from behind whispered as a paper plane
flew from the back.

Feeling a feather like weight behind my back
she embraced with contentment
that gave out a warm feeling of care
I smiled.

Feeling time never moved, It didn't matter
leaning to each other, we blushed
Wrapping around a red scarf in our necks
she closed her eyes...

" I love you "
Closing both eyes with a smile
tears came running down
answering back...
" I love you too... "

Small fragments of light flew in the air
looking at my side
" I'm sorry this can't be forever "
she was disappearing...

I took her hands as she smiled so sadly
" It's alright, just wait for me...
even if this isn't forever, I will always love you"
she started to cry with bittersweet tears.

A heavy feeling in the chest was beating
but there was no time, no more hesitation
taking down pride and lies
while looking at her, we knew what we wanted.

The curtain from behind fluttered as the wind blew
with tears running down both faces
lips locked together not letting each other go
it went on for a long time...

" It'll be sad but I'll wait for you "
she stepped back as her body started
to slowly turn vague...
" I love you, see you next time. "

Smiling one last time, and disappearing again
Saying goodbye wasn't forever
or did the chapter of this story.

6 am, waking up with an eye bag
while wiping away the evidence in both eyes
looking out the window
hoping and praying...
for one more time, and forever.
