I’ve been staying here for a quite awhile now. This family has it’s pros and it’s cons, but I think the pro’s outweigh the cons….I think….I’m not exactly sure at times. Even though I’m living a very comfortable life, there’s still one thing that disturbs my peace. That thing you ask? Well…it’s the man made ABOMINATION known as stairs. Honestly! I don’t understand why humans need such a thing! Build a ramp and slide down. It’s as simple as that people! You go off into your needs that you forget about us dogs! Sheesh do you know how hard is it to go down one flight of stairs?! I guess not….I laid there on my couch, well actually their couch…but it’s mine because I’m out here a lot more than they are. Anyway, Mommy, a.k.a. Mrs. Barnes, came out into the living room and sat along side me.
"Chu-Chu! Are you ready to go?" she asked me, rubbing my back. I rolled over on my back. I love it when she rubs my belly. Her hands are so soft and smooth and smells very nice. I sniffed her hand . Hmm..today it smells like pomegranates. Don’t ask me how I know what pomegranates’ smell like. I just do and that’s all. Wait, ready?…..Am I ready to go where?….Although those thoughts were in my head., the belly rubbing was too good, so I ignored the thought. Then the rubbing stopped and Mommy got up of the couch and went into the kitchen. I rolled back over on my stomach. Hey what happened to all the rubbing? She returned with a leash in hand. Holy dog biscuits! She’s gonna take me for a walk! And when it’s time for a walk, it’s time for the stairs! She tried to approach me and put the leash on, but I flew off the couch in lightning speed. Haha! You can’t catch me! I ran into the kitchen back out, around the couch, and then finally under the dinning table, where I know they wouldn’t be able to catch me. Mommy bended underneath the dining table to get me, but she couldn’t reach and tied not scare me because she knew I would run. Footsteps could be heard from behind. We looked up and it was child woman.
"I know how to get him out Mommy." she said with a grin on her face. I growled. She always ruins things for me, but not this time. I’ve got the advantage. Child woman disappeared into the kitchen. What is she up to this time? I peeked around the corner from underneath the table. Rustle! Rustle! What is that noise? It sounds like a treat bag. Does she really think I’m gonna fall for that? Hmph! I’m a lot smarter than she thinks. I’m not some average, hungry dog off the streets. I’m a purebred puppy! Child woman returns with not one but two treats. Snookies to be specific. She started waving them in front of my face. "Come on boy! Come get the treats!"
"Mani…I don’t think it’s gonna work.." Mommy said from the side. I smiled. Mommy always knows best. She should listen to Mommy. Like I said, I’m much smarter than the average dog.
"No it’s gonna work Mommy. Trust me." Child woman said as she continued to wave the treats in my face. I furrowed my brow. This is not going to work, but why do I find myself following the swaying of the treats? Child woman shrugged her shoulders and started to walk away with the treats in hand. Wait, where is she going?! My treats! I ran after her and felt my being lifted off the ground. I looked behind me. It was Mommy. Drats! I was tricked! She carried me over to the couch and started to put the leash on me. I glared at Child woman. I really don’t like her! Mommy put me on the ground and started walking me towards the door. Wait my treats! I looked back at child woman. She winked at me and smiled. "Sorry Chu. You’ll get them when you come back." Just you wait….You’ll get yours. We walked out the door and got to the stairs. I stopped. Those stairs are looking pretty scary right now….Goochi comes out from his apartment with his owner.
"Still can’t walk down the stairs can ya?" he said in a girly voice. I glared at him. Sure he was older than me, but he’s a girly dog. So why do I care about what he says to me.
"Shut up Goochi…." I said to him, which would have been growls to humans. He laughed. He’s a jerk.
"I’ll teach ya how to go down." he said with a smirk. "Follow me." He started walking downstairs. Ehh…what do I have to lose?
-We are the champions music plays as scenes of Goochi training me go by(Heh)-
"Wow Chu! You know how to go down the stairs now!" said Mommy. I snorted. Nothing to it, but to do it! (Says the dog who was complaining before) Stairs no problem! I am wonder dog!
End Chu-Chu. Goochi, and the Stairs
