The Dogtastic Adventures of Chu-Chu Allewicious Barnes
Chu-Chu, The Mama’s Boy
In this home of mine, I am known as Chu-Chu Allewicious Barnes. Odd name, I know, but it’s better than being called Sang-whan. I overheard them say once that I walk like a chu-chu train, hence the name Chu-Chu…..I think I should take offence to that. First of all I’m not 3,000 tons and I don’t say Chu! Chu! Every time I’m moving from the couch to the front of the door. Heck the first few weeks I didn’t even respond to them. First because I would not answer to such a name and second they kept using these other aliases that make no sense. Names like Beans, The Boy, Chu-Chu cent, Chu-Chu liss, and many many more, is enough to make you confused. However, the name Chu-Chu grew on me so, there you go. I was laying on the carpet in front of the door, when the big man himself, Mr. Gordon Barnes, invited me to come sit on the couch along side him.
"Chu-Chu! Come here Chu-Chu! Who’s the good boy?! Who’s the good boy?!" he called in a high-pitched voice, but it wasn’t high enough to hurt my ears. If you’re voice is ever screechy, you can bet I will growl at you because dogs, like myself, can not take high pitched voices. I decided to go along with the whole good boy charade. Don’t know why humans do it, but whatever makes them happy. I think I’ll go with the heavy panting and wagging my tail routine. It usually keeps them satisfied and I get a couple of Snookie treats out of it. I put my routine into action and hopped onto the couch. Now let’s see, where’s a good place to sit….He practically takes up the whole couch…..Ah there’s a good spot. I plopped myself on his belly, which provides really good cushion. "Ooph!" I looked up at him as he yelped. I don’t really think I’m that heavy…but he rubbed my back. Imani or Child Woman as I like to call her, came into the living room and plot herself on the couch and tried to pick me up. The nerve!
"Grr…." I growled at her. Here I am sitting in the comfort of this man’s stomach and she has the nerve to remove me from it. So grr, and that’s all. Gordon hit the side of the couch hard, trying to get my attention. I had to admit it did startled me. I looked up and he was angry. What happened to the happy mood two minutes ago? He started to scold me.
"Chu-Chu! That’s bad!" he said in a deep voice. When he talks like that, I know I’m in trouble. I growled softly then got off of him and headed to the door. Child Woman get’s on my nerve sometimes. I always get into the trouble when she’s around. Tmph! Tmph! What’s that noise? It sounded like footsteps…Sniff Sniff….Hey I know that perfume! That means she’s home! I barked as loud as I could. She’s coming! She’s coming! Child Woman was screaming at me.
"Chu-Chu! Knock it off!" she yelled at me. I harrumphed and glared back at her. First, why would I obey you? Second, my favorite person is coming home. So no. The door knob turned and in walks Mommy or Mrs. Aisha Barnes. I stood on my two back legs and wagged my tail. She’s my favorite. She put her things down and hugged me. Yay, she’s home! Child woman snickered. I looked at her. What does she want? "Chu is a mama’s boy!" Mama’s boy? Whatever, no one pays attention to you anyway. I look at the clock. 7:00.…So I guess it’s time to eat…Better get moving….
