Chapter 7- My Decision

 

In the middle of a pile of debris, me and the demon known as Rue Desdemonna stood. Rue is a demon? I never saw one up close, but I always thought that they looked a little different, more devilish. I know they're strong, but....can they be trusted? Rue stood there, staring at me with her blazing red eyes.

 

"Well what is your answer?..." she said demonically. Her voice cold and fierce at the same time. She's waiting for my answer and there's only one thing for me to do.

 

"My answer is...." I started. She stood there waiting. The Ego was watching from afar. What should I do? Could this lead me down something I can't return from? And that sentence Ayame had said earlier 'This is the begining of the end'. Does that have to with this? All these things are cming to mind, but I can't turn back now. I have to give her an answer. "My answer is.........yes, I will still help you. It doesn't matter that you're a demon.....You can probably do this without my help, but I wanna help regardless." I stared at her right red eyes, staring into my soul. They started to dim and then she looked away.

 

"Heh....didn't expect you to say yes.....smart people usually run away from us or send goddesses and angels on our tails. Well that's how it is recently...." she continued, "You must be a very dumb boy.......but I'll give you this.....you have guts." I don't like the fact that she called me dumb for trying to help her, but this wasn't really the time to be worrying about that. She started to walk over to me, quickly and stared into my eyes with her now ruby red ones. I know she's beautiful and that surprises me. I never thought that demons could look like this. I've always been told by massive amounts of people that they were eye sores and that they only want to cause people pain, but that's not the case with her. This is the reason I want to help. She continued to stare at me. "What is your name?..." My name? Why does she need to know my name?

 

"It's Duran.....Duran Kimmaichi...." I said hesitently. I don't know what she's doing, but it does sound nice....She stood back and spreaded her arms out. A red, glowing, magic circle appeared underneath us. What is this?! She started to chant something.

 

"Rasaga....merenu.....inamhi....estora.....spiritos.....testuga......rehri...." she chanted then continued, "Deity of hell....I..Rue Desdemonna...ask for approval of the one before me to assist me in my tasks.....He who stands before you......Duran Kimmaichi...." I stared in confusion and amazement. She looked back at me. The circle glowed red for few minutes more then turned green. Rue nodded. "Thank you Deity...." The glowing stopped, but the magic circle was still there. Why did it stop? Rue walked over to me. "I apologize for this in advance....but it's the only way for you to help me." She grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me closer to her. What is going on?! Slowly she leaned near my neck and licked it. "Good....I won't have any problems..." Problems?! What does she mean?! I felt a sting on my neck and then an aganizing pain.

 

"AAAHHH!" I yelled in agony, but she continued with whatever she was doing. The cirlce started to glow again while she was doing this. After a few moments, she released me and stood back, wiping her mouth off. Did she just drink my blood?! I started to hold my neck, but she stopped me.

 

"Don't touch it yet!" she yelled at me and I quickly took my hand away. It burns! So why can't I touch it? She started to chant again. "Lelolis saragain momentesro salamatri dio lentris terse merenu......the contract is complete." Contract, what contract? Cirlce stopped glowing and disappeared. Rue and me stood. "You can touch you neck now..." I touched it....it wasn't bleeding! I looked at her confused.

 

"Why did you do that?...." I said while holding onto my neck. She looked at me coldly. I flinched. I din't know demons were like that, that they fed on blood.

 

"I had to do it in order for you to be any use to me in battle." she said codly and held her rosario for me to see. It was glowing yellow this time, "Your blood will open one of the seals this rosario has placed on me.......and I will seal it back when the battle is over.....it will effect you too later on...." It will affect me too? When? A blood curdling scream came from the ceiling. Rue and I looked up to see the Ego waiting for the battle to continue. Rue turned her back to me and started to walk away. Where is she going? She turned to look at me. "You must stay here and let me take care of this thing right now. You'll only be in the way as you are now....." I extended my hand after her as she left. I thought she was gonna let me help! Was I just an energy drink?! She stood underneath the Ego, who looked down at Rue from above and growled. Rue started chanting again. "Narema.....sorage.....testayo.....spirtios....Open the seal....my rosario.....for you have had your price...." The rosario blinked yelllow then expolded in a burst of light. I sheilded my eyes from the brightness.

 

"What is going on?!" I yelled as the explosion happened. The light dispered to reveal Rue, but not as she was before. Her hair was blazing red and her eyes were bright yellow. She was a different person. She summoned her scythe which was black and red now and was bigger than before. Then in a flash she bursted in to sky after the Ego. The Ego snarled and charged at Rue with full force. Rue disappeared leaving the Ego clueless. Suddenly the Ego turns around to find a glowing Rue stding before it. The Ego snarled and flew back and charged in with its spear. Rue took her scythe and blocked it and pushed it away from her. The Ego flew back starled and Rue flew after it. The two's weapons clashed back and forth for awhile. I wonder if Rue will really be okay. The two seperated and flew back away from each other. The Ego screamed agemin and called on energy to turn it's spear red. Rue stood back and started to chant a spell.

 

"Deity of Hell....I call on your power......Guide this scythe to give your sentence to all those who defy the peace in our world...." she chanted and her scythe started crackle with yellow and blue light. What is that spell? Is that a spell of a demon? "Under the name....Rue Desdemonna.....I cast this spelll.....Lighting Rain!" Rue lifted her scythe and the ceiling turned black. What's happening? Then lightning sparks of red and yellow came from the black ceiling. The Ego looked around and snarled at Rue. A red lighting spark crashed into a bunch of chairs in front of the stage. I flinched and backed away. Just what are the limits to her power?! Another spark crashed close to me. I stepped away. Does she even care that I'm down here?! The Ego swerved to avoid the strikes,but was oblivious to the Rue, who readied her scythe behind it. "Disperse!" she yelled and swung her scythe at the Ego, slicing it in half. The Ego smirked before it vanished and turned into a bunch of souls. Is it over? Rue took of her rosario and held it to the souls and they were sucked in, crying and screaming all the way. Ting! The rosario sucked up all the souls and Rue had landed gentley on the ground. Her hair and eyes had turned back to normal. I ran over to her as she was staring at her rosario. She looked at me. "The fight is over.....You better return to your friends now...."

 

"But I'm here to help you. You don't know when another one of those things are going to show up.....They're getting stronger...." I said quietly, "I know I'm not strong...but I can be..." Rue looked then smiled as if that was what she wanted to hear.

 

"That's going to change....but....your fighting style has to change...." she said as she started to walk away. I stopped her.

 

"Wait!" I yelled. She turned around. "Who are you really?.....Why are you after these things?......There are many things I want to know. Won't you tell me?....." Rue looked at me coldly then softened.

 

"Tomorrow......" she started.

 

"Tomorrow?....." I asked her. She sighed then continued.

 

"Come to Nerringne's forest tomorrow....." she said, "You have made a contract with me....so you have the right to know about me....and I'll train you to fight better...." She's gonna train me? Noises came from the door.

 

"Duran!" called Ayame from the door. She was standing there with Shadow. I waved back at them and turned to talk to Rue but she disappeared leaving nothing but black feathers in her place. What's this? A note? In the pile of feathers was a note in what seemed like Rue's handwriting. It red:

Although you want to know about me....You should also want to know about your friends as well. I have my secrets, but they also have their own. This world is a puzzle and they are the main pieces to it. If you find something from them....it might help you learn more about me. There are things that I can tell you and there's things that they can....

 

Rue Desdemonna

 

Things that they know. I looked over at my friends. I wonder? If this is a puzzle then I'm going to solve it.

That is awesome! I felt the action and the suspense from the battle gnaw at my stomach. I loved, loved, loved it! There are some gramical errors such as using cold a little too much. And also when you said this "that they were eye sores and that they only" I'm sure you meant this "that their eyes were sore and that the only" And this My name? Why does she need to know my name? this sentence isn't needed because of his action afterwards therefore it's kind of sticking out as the reader read through it.

But when Rue sliced that demon, I was like "Yeah, cool! Yeah Rue!" I'm silly, but whatever. And also the gripper you put in here about Shadow and Ayame makes the reader want to really know the secrets that lie behind these characters. Just bravo. I love the chapter. It's very descriptive and pretty good. I'm gonna read the next chapter now.
