Darkness FellA Poem by ElisaA night with a shadowDarkness fell. The glistening marble beneath me ached from the night's torture. So did I. A blast of wind pierced the room as you walked in, making the candles flicker in time with my quickened heartbeat. I lifted my head to meet your gaze, enticing...murderous... a gaze made unbreakable as you blew out each candle. Darkness fell. I could feel your breath in my hair, savoring my lilac perfume. I touched the corners of your mouth, upturned but couldn't see your searing eyes. Suddenly, you lifted me, and a gasp escaped my throat. Your hands became my sight in the drifting, stalking night. Darkness fell. It bent to the will of the coming morning, and as quick as night retreats, you left me with no reminder of your existence... Shadow, shadow, come to me. Come to me when darkness falls.
