This LandA Poem by ElisaInspired by a road trip to WyomingThe sky is endless, and bluer than I've ever seen concealed by a blanket of grey storm clouds The land's so green, it's begging me to run my fingers through its hair It would be blasphemy to deny its beauty, but I long for a place much closer, much quieter in the warmth of your arms, and the heat of your eyes The winds are frigid now and the only thing keeping me from shivering is the thought of laying my head on your chest watching the embers die They can have this open, empty land of hills that extend beyond my reach It's nothing more than a blue-skied hell without you here to make it whole
