HidingA Poem by Elisa"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26I've been hiding from You. Under a sky as blue as tears, In wind that strokes my blushed-red cheeks, and rays of sun exposing all darkness, I've been hiding from You. Believing I was safe, I walked through shadow, through darkness that slithered into my soul, through flames that scorched my rebellious spirit, and now, as a singed heap of nothing, I've been hiding from You. Beautiful is the mask that hides my shame. Diluted by arrogance, diguised by righteousness, under a cloak of perfection, I've been hiding from you. But You, Oh sky, Oh wind, Oh rays of sun, You still see me, and You always have. Rays of Sun, melt my heart. Gentle Wind, soothe my guilt. Eternal Sky, catch me as I fall towards you. Cover me with your loving arms, for within their virtue, I am saved.
