Lab ExamA Poem by ElisaThat moment when it's on the tip of your tongue, and it just stays there.Ok, what technique did we use to separate the chlorophyll pigments? Of course! It was... That... Paper... Thing... I can see the paper, crinkly and white With a single streak of spinach green Placed gently in clear fluid. Off they go Splotches of color racing up the track. I can see them... I'm chasing them... But what was that CALLED!? Maybe if I put my head down... Spectrophotometry? No, that came later. Let me close my eyes for a second... Photography? What? No. Ok, take a deep breath. Something-metry? My heart jumps. Something-graphy? My heart jumps. Pigment-something? My heart jumps. Something-diffusion-something? My heart jumps. No! No! No! No! No! What was it!? Maybe if I punch something I'll remember! Two minutes left! Come on, it's so simple! Ok, just don't leave it blank. Don't leave it blank! But it'll be wrong anyway! Just put something! What's the point!? "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand pens down." So what technique did we use to separate the chlorophyll pigments? ________________ Heart heavy, I begin the long walk home. I open my notebook... Chromatography.
