Aftermath

A Poem by Elisa
"

He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself. Proverbs 6:32

"
Heal yourself.
Heal yourself.
My voice is drowning,
but that is my plea.

I...I saw you
trapped in my whirlwind of lies,
disappearing slowly with each new wound,
leaving me to embrace my own selfishness.

 This haunts me every night;
piercing my heart
are the flames of pure betrayal
that glow in your eyes.

Please forgive me, angel.
I'd fall through a bottomless pit
to feel your soft, supple arms flying down to catch me.

Do not let your hands grow cold
or your thoughts of me vanish in the jaws of the void.
There is only room for one
in my shell of flesh and loneliness.

 With all my love,
and all my strength,
I beg your forgiveness
for the pain I have caused.

One of my fav. posts!

I don't know, if you've made it intentionally or not, but it's true, I find some kinda deep inspirational like relaxed, calm & so static vibes of peace in your write. I think, this's the first time that I read something like that from you. Impressive! You're seemed kinda philosophical naked spirit of white-poetess either which I find very blissful to my heart. Keep it up!

Adultery is a wicked thing indeed washing away pieces of those affected. A piece to make us think.

It certainly does!
I liked the concept, adultery is no doubt a bad thing as you lose more than you can think of.

Most definitely. Thank you for reading!
This was food for thought. Those who commit adultery once and never to repeat it again, hope with all their being to be forgiven. Those who have been cheated on even once hope that it will never repeat. And so one lives with insecurity that one will always cheat. And the other lives with insecurity that the other will never forgive or forget.
