Silence

Silence

A Poem by Elisa
"

A tribute to my grandpa. We love you and miss you. Special thanks to my brother for the first two lines of this poem.

"
The silence of a long-heard sound
The silence on the edge of calamity
The silence that clings to these pale, white walls
The silence that hopes to blacken our hearts

The silence of a womb
bursting forth with new life
until it's silenced again
in the dust of the earth.

Fly away, gentle spirit
far from this silent room
to the sky, where silence
will never reign again.

Elisa
I hope you all enjoyed this tribute to my grandpa. I wrote this back in November, when he passed away at the age of 85. Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.

I really liked this. My aunt committed suicide by jumping off a eleven-story building.... Bout 3 months ago. Hardest thing ever, but these are beautiful words. Excellent tribute.

I truly thought you did a magnificent job.

Best,

Reminds me of the moment my grandfather passed away as well. It was over the summer after a long battle with cancer. At the time I had no words in me to even begin to describe everything: the emotion, the crying, the relief, especially the silence. Very beautiful write; I love absolutely love it. I can't wait to read more from you.

You're welcome :)
I really feel sorry for the unfathomable loss of yours. Grandparents are an aspect that holds immense significance in one's life. But, let me add, as Terry Gerritsen says:-

" Dead is the person, who is forgotten".

Your grandpa is not dead, because there is his granddaughter for him to remember. This tribute, really has the potential to convey message, that you really want to express,

A great write.
