Fields of ash -

Fields of ash -

A Poem by Ed Von Wolff
"

A poetic approach to loss of intense love.

"

Unrelated zephyrs espouse a tinge

of disintegrated dreams
expelled from impressions
of lost romantic gleams
from aflame to retrogressions
to interlude such beseems.

Sifting mounds should one descry
was once vehemently besotted
became of it much smoldering
recollection and mourn allotted
and though in absence, sobering
for we are no further knotted.

Should the purging by the rains
retire your unadorned ember
may you graze the graying greens
every black and rancorous December
be ever so consumed by routines
of the sifting of ash forever.
