Moments

A Poem by Victor Adegbite

In a godly gathering,
upright in the midst of likes
A feeling unexplainable,
felt at the helm of his robe.
Down he went,
into a seat of oblivion.
Loved ones lear to his aid.
Choked expression conjured,
fixed on his fixture.
Swift chariots horned,
toppled into its realm,
flashes before humanity.
Traffic ticks the time of death,
wardens are defiled untimely.
On the healer's bed,
his edible rope soften,
tears flowed from his ribs.
Gasping,gnawing,gawking
and groaning,
life became an oblivion.
Final moments arrived,
a touch of mist,
spread through the veil.
The bucket was upturned.
