Stranded PrayerA Poem by Tomislav PetricevicI wrote some sort of a Christian song! The broken world won't fix itself, The people pray and ask for help. Their hands have worked until they've bled, Their hands have wiped the tears they've shed. To You they come in time of need, To You they come their child to feed. The answer found within Your word, To heal the wounds of dying herd.
Solace found or solace lost, Results don't show without the cost. The cost unseen and holds no name, The cost that sets pure hearts aflame. “For how can He not give us hope, For how can He not cut the rope? The rope is tied around our necks, Yet He will not destroy this hex.”
But they don't know what strength they've gained, Since their whole lives they had been chained. I ask of You just one thing now, I ask despite avoiding plough. Hear their cries and lips that moan, Hear their cries and not my own. Since my path chose to strand from light, And ended in these words I write. © 2013 Tomislav PetricevicAuthor's Note
