Blissful WishesA Poem by Tomislav PetricevicWe wish for a better world. We'd like to enter the world of acceptance, Illusionary welfare to feed basic desire, Mend the wounds with shameful repentance, Obligatory tolerance which doesn't expire.
We'd like to accelerate the pace of our blood, Exterminate the loneliness and reveal the heart, Get up from the dirt to wash away the mud, Open up the insides without falling apart.
We'd like to claim ownership over solid ground, A pacifying place that welcomes with open arms, Procrastinate out of warming comfort found, Belong to a haven absent of alarms.
We'd like to pull the sleeves and do our own dishes, Since we're sick of daydreaming instead of knitting fate, Put in motion the creation of those blissful wishes, And take the tools to bring down this new world's gate. © 2012 Tomislav PetricevicAuthor's Note
