The Watcher

The Watcher

A Poem by Tomislav Petricevic
"

He lives in everlasting silence with eyes wide open and mind taking notes.

"

The clock unwinds,

Through imagination

Of the watcher's shadow.

Visions of faded faces

Materialize through his memory,

Dissolving upon

The moment of remembrance.

Their presence had vanished,

Threads of fate lead them

Towards different ends,

Yet he remains silent,

Watching them embark.

Every visitor's resolve

Closes chapters of time,

While the dusty pages

Remain forever locked.

The watcher sits alone,

Firmly grasping the key,

Waiting for the quill to write.

...the clock stands frozen...

Author's Note

Tomislav Petricevic
I wrote this poem as a metaphor (obviously) - I am the watcher, while the various people are WritersCafe members. Let me explain: I have seen a lot of good people here, and I have talked to some of them, we got along quite nice, but unfortunately, they have either closed their accounts or simply stopped logging on.
And before you start thinking "Dude, that's a really lame theme to write about", keep in mind that this poem has many different layers. So yeah, that's not the only metaphor you can find here. Let the poem hold its own meaning for you.
Arigato.

A very intriguing poem this was, packed full of mystery and some emotions. Yeah even i have seen writers suddenly closing there accounts and it sucks you know. Its like all of a sudden you cant read any of their work anymore so are they supposed to disappear just like that? Of course its not silly if you wrote this poem about such writers. You have the right to write about whatever you want:-):-):-D.

This is a very mysterious poem, and so well-written. There are, like you said, many ways to perceive this message. Great job
