Concealed VenomA Poem by Tomislav PetricevicThere is a beautiful forest with a stunning river, but is the water really as it seems? In the depths of a bright green forest, Where the gusts create a gentle shiver, Stands a snake among the beauty, To the mortal eye- a river.
Tasty expanses it reveals, To a sore throat a huge temptation, But those who greedily dive inside, Come to a contrary revelation.
The water makes a frigid blast, Its content now a venom so foul, Acid eats the leaves with pleasure, Silencing down every howl.
The forest shows its true shape- Withered branches, destroyed earth, Mother nature spills her tears, For the child she cherished since birth.
I leave you with a warning, stranger: Not every water can be cured, So feel not bad for giving up, Instead of finding yourself lured. © 2012 Tomislav PetricevicAuthor's Note
