~Horizons~

A mournful, yet hopeful poem, which became my anthem of hope and strength, following the onset of a deep, crippling hurt in my life. Yet, an unexpected soul resuscitated me with her hope. Fate lives.

~HORIZONS~

 

Searching horizons; her distance unknown
Reaching for eyes on planes left alone
Sifting thru sorrow, he’ll beg and he’ll borrow
Combing the ash of reality’s crash

Morning sun rises, all dressed in her red
Dawn has been broken, yet, heart’s left unfed
Quickening pace, now, he turns and he flees
Chasing after true love’s ease

 Moons they follow, to reflect on his path
Lighting the night and drawing love’s bath
Soaking his aches, then, wringing his heart
Thoughts drip like tears, in worlds set apart

Forgetting in slumber, his place in this time
Forging a trail to match her in rhyme
Will she awaken, lighting his eyes
In the comfort of now; forever’s disguise

He holds the will to find a course divined...

I love this poem. It just reflects this deep deep longing inside you. Its beautiful. And Iam not just saying that because you're my best friend. lol. And I guess it can truly be appreciated in a song. Even though the lines themselves are melodic in their nature and even swoon-worthy, I believe the true impact of it can be felt in a song with the proper tune. Thang did a good job on it I felt :)

It's refreshing to read something from the male perspective. It felt like a great song to me. I felt a rythm. I enjoyed reading it.
