A Poem by P.J. Lowry

How shall I hold my heart
so then it will not break apart
for without thy love the days are gloom
while I weep within my lonely room.
Darker and dangerous are the nights
cursed to relive my mistakes, our fights
knowing that further away you fly
from the home where I would try
to forget, forgive, tell myself a lie
that one day thou shalt return to me
to restore our love, resume thy company
make me the happiest bloke of all
to hear thy song, to answer the call
to feel thy skin, to experience your love
yet I dream in vain, cry for help from above
but thy whines fall upon deaf heaven
for our love is lost, now we are even...
