The BanishedA Poem by P.J. Lowry
I quickly sped out of town, at the
first break of the dark and howling night torn from the ivory tower I had taken for granted shamed into leaving by conspiracies assumed guilty until proven innocent then throttled into exile by the very people who I thought had loved me. She had earned the keys to my heart I had given myself permission to love. It all seemed too good to be true, and then as if someone thought it was going too well reality came crashing through the door sending paradise deep into the firey chasms never to be heard from again. So here I am, accepting my banishment driving out into the deep, dark nowhere unaware of what the evening has in store. I bid farewell to what could have been leaving behind memories for something new moving on towards another state, another town hoping the next will be my new forever. © 2008 P.J. LowryReviews
