![]() Immortal InspirationA Poem by P.J. Lowry
He glided quietly through the door
like a shadow that was cloaked in mystery. I quickly looked away and down at the floor hoping that he wasnt here to talk with me. Yet slowly he crept closer with each hefty step, sliding over to the tiny table where I sat and he struggled to sit down as if he needed help then sighed and settled down like a lazy cat. Yet before I could speak, he quickly made a motion by raising his hand, which demanded that I be silent. I never spoke, afraid his anger would stir some action, and slowly did I tremble, as my nerve was absent. Suddenly he loudly chuckled into the thin and dirty air breaking the silence like a fragile plain of glass. Then he firmly slapped my shoulder without any care almost knocking me off the chair and onto my a*s. "My boy," said he with a grin that was rich of age "I can see within your eyes that you have much to learn if you wish to bring your art upon that empty page. For it is inside your heart where the passion must burn in order for poets like yourself to paint each tale of woe. For each person on this planet has a story to tell, and then like an artist it is up to you to dig deep and find that glow to paint each word and bring hope to us all once again." I had closed my eyes, trying to digest what he had said knowing that every word that he had spoken to be true, but I opened my eyes only to awaken in my bed staring at time and observing how fast she had flew. I laid there in silence, thinking quietly to myself failing to identify that man because I really should remember who presented me a gift of such endless wealth.
