The Rain Must Fall

The rain must fall
throughout all the lonely nights and days
watching as the ground is given it's much needed shower
the soil soaking up every precious little drop.

To watch this is to witness how life functions and works
for it is this very ground that provides us with our food
thus completing another cycle that surrounds our lives
as this pattern is a never ending chain of events.

Yet watching this liquid fall from the sky
can be so emotional and even depressing
as it reminds you of every tear you ever shed
for every person you ever cared for.

It can literally tear a person apart,
but the rain must fall...

The rain is so refreshing and renewing even tho~ at times it
can make one sad~ it still stimulates my senses~ I love the rain
and we need it as we do the sun, a vital balance to nature~

Your poem makes me wish for Rain! I live in the desert and the rainfall is minimal. Very thought provoking. I love how you reflect upon the life cycle and the blessing of rain for our sustenance, but then regress concerning the sorrow when you relate it to every tear you have cried. Rain can also make us feel dismal and depressed.

All in all, I love it when it comes. It cleanses the earth and smells so fresh after a good rain.
