V-Day

Each year it's the one day that scares us all
a non-holiday that makes men quiver in fear
yet some are brave enough to answer the call
on that one day in the second month of the year.

Every year it almost seems like a competition
buying large things to prove to the entire planet
as if the big day itself is giving them permission
to show their attraction is greater than any magnet.

Many men are afraid to commit, this much is true
there's a fine line between being loved and whipped
so when he steps up and his love shines through
the love is true; it isn't rehearsed or from a script.

While we shouldn't wait for just one day to reach out
try not to gripe, that's not what Valentine's Day is about.
