biting my nails

biting my nails

A Poem by Peter Truth
"

quick free write

"

Barely existing
running in place,
mostly just
taking up space.

Finding myself
is becoming
harder and harder,

starting to
look  more like
my father,

I knew
I would
and that's
not good.

Running but
can't get
away,
at least
not today.

It's funny I too am somewhat like my father, but not entirely...and knowing that makes me realize that I can be much better...for he has failed to look in the mirror to see the harm he's done. Great poem!
