Amazing poetry shared by two amazing poets.
"They enchant dark places,
and leave on their traces.
A touch as caressing as a lover,
a tapestry of perfection, like no other. "
I liked the complete poem but the above lines could stand alone. You gave life to the beautiful words. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Really though, it's a great poem. I enjoyed it. I really like the line about
"The spiders are delicate creatures,
all seeing eyes, and many features.
Their thread a reminder of time,
a magnificent web, a grand design."
I feel like that really resonates with me, as spider myself.

Great Collaboration!!! I have a huge ,gorgeous spider web on the outside of my studio window....I watch it grow , and admire it every day....delicate and mystifying .....they move ever so gently in a soft breeze...yet they stick like glue and never fall...spiders are common where I live and in old haunted houses, especially in the dark....their intricate designs are a masterwork of art.... thank you for sharing
Warmly, B

Old haunted houses, nice. I always wanted to stay at a haunted house. Yes, nature is beautiful in all creation, spiders as well. Honestly I don't like the flies very much and spiders eat them. Lol
Your words are deeply appreciated.

spiders are incredible creatures whose work are a wonder of nature. you explore this idea in such captivating language - intersecting science, mythology, and lived experience. a daring poem that takes a simple topic and expands it across an amorous horizon. i'm glad Amy R is back. this work sits outside her usual work, but it has the stylistic finesse known to her. hats off to both of you.

I so agree with your Introduction to this poem, dear A. R. It truly is a wonderful collaboration with Amy! Your words spin the story of Athena and Arachne so finely: Arachne, a talented mortal weaver, challenged Minerva (Athena) to a weaving contest. Despite Arachne's exceptional skill, Minerva transformed her into a spider. The myth illustrates divine punishment, and the dangers of challenging the gods. Yes, her offspring continue to weave to this very day and nobody can compete with the delicate patterns that they weave, they are unique. There is something so joyful in watching a spider spin its web, how carefully it is achieved one strand at a time and if it is early morning, seeing it bedecked by diamonds of dew is simply breathtaking! I do NOT like big spiders but I don't mind the little ones, but that said, I am a great admirer of their intriguing craft and you have flecked an amazingly wonderful picture of that craft throughout this masterfully penned poem and of the little creatures themselves with a "touch as caressing as a lover!" A fascinating poem studded with glistening gems of visual detail throughout. Perfect rhythm and rhyme, the poem flows effortlessly. I got trapped in the web of your words as I read and so enjoyed this awe-inspiring poem. Love the title of the poem too! Kudos to you both dear A. R. and Amy! Wondrous write! Thank you for sharing...

Yes, I do enjoy the Greek myths. Always felt sorry for Arachne, and Medusa as well. Minerva was not very forgiving. Take good care dear friend. Hugs and bright blessings.

I love the poem, it is a captivating write. I too, like Greek myth. Not too keen on Medusa and all her snakes! :) Don't feel that Minera was forgiving, but was perhaps a little envious of Arachna's awesome abilities? Take very good care of you too, dear friend. Hugs and brightest Blessings from here to there to you...
