Hidden hopes

A poem about hope.

We all have some hidden hope, 

or secret desire. 

May help us cope, 

or burn like fire. 

I had hope for a better future. 

Hope in a brighter tomorrow. 

Where I would be mature, 

with less pain and sorrow. 

Hope in a new day, 

bringing love and peace. 

Hope in not being cast away, 

even hope in plain justice. 

Hope in a simple kiss. 

Hope in a gentle caress. 

That my hope would not dismiss, 

or be some sin I need to confess. 

And I take this final note, 

we should all be free, 

and never lose hope, 

on you or on me.

very sharp writing. the use of rhymes was spot on while the ideas were clearly yet beautifully presented. part essay and part sonnet, it isa cri de coeur that speaks on many levels. that we have an optimistic view on life is essential to live fully. thank you for sharing this, im glad i found it.

Sometimes the world doesn’t shine bright, our hopes and dreams seem hopeless. I would say, never give up on hope, hang on to it, but never let go. Situations can change, new opportunities can come along. Hidden hopes, secret desires. A lovely write Ancient Rock. All the best to you.

A very sublime write which extols the virtue of hope. We all have hidden desires known only to ourselves and we harbour many different hopes in our hearts. If we believe in ourselves, it is easier to nourish hope and you have so finely penned some of the hopes we may have such in "a simple kiss" (in hope that it will lead to more...) and of course, if we believe in ourselves we will never lose hope in ourselves, in what we can achieve, in who we can be, in anything to do with us! Human beings always hope for brighter days to come, but without the darker days we would not appreciate the brighter ones. It's like a double edge sword! Without hope, we really have nothing left in the pot of life, we have reached the end. Very insightful and thought provoking write, dear A. R... So enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing...
