Daylight

A poem for a special someone.

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

and as my heart aches, 

for a lament of the past,

that starts to lift at last, 

from my burdened heart. 

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

and I know I got what it takes, 

to carry on with my weight, 

never to be fake,

to abandon hate.

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

as I ponder upon all my mistakes, 

never again to repeat, 

when once again we meet, 

I'll feel it in my heartbeat.

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

magic your soothing light creates, 

caressing my skin, 

touching me within, 

pulling my heart to places I've never been.

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

you are the best of all my mates, 

I feel happy in your company, 

things seem simpler to me, 

and suddenly I don't feel so lonely.

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

and even if the earth shakes, 

we shall find solid common ground, 

once we were lost but now we are found, 

mind and heart, forever bound. 

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

and the shade, darkness escapes, 

you are my star far away, 

shining so bright, night and day, 

you make me want to live and stay. 

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

and sadness dissipate, 

dear muse, angel, shining guiding light, 

only you can pierce the dark veil of night, 

when I am blind you bring me sight. 

Daylight through yonder window breaks, 

and love it is what it makes, 

you bring me hope, 

the strength to cope, 

cut the rope around my throat. 

Daylight through yonder window breaks. 

Clarity... I marvel at all your shapes.

i have been through this experience many times. i get regular bouts of depression and have seen daylight break through so many times. nothing beats that feeling.

There's something to be said about daylight. It can give meaning to a new beginning. We can begin again in the Daylight. We see from a new perspective.
