The maiden and the sailor.A Poem by The_Ancient_RockA poem by Amy R.In a moment where time stood still, they kissed, a love so pure, so real. Years of longing, aching hearts, promises made, never to part. He sailed away to a distant war, leaving her alone on the shore. Lockets exchanged, paintings inside, memories of love, forever to abide. One last caress, a tearful goodbye, as he turned and left, under the sky. Her heart weighed heavy, burdened with fear, the sea, a cruel, unforgiving frontier. Salted tears of widows past, mixed with the ocean vast. Seven years she waited, faithful and true, praying each day for his safe return, anew. Seasons changed, time marched on, hope flickered, but was never gone. On a sunny summer day, a sailed appeared, her love returning, her heart revered. Running into each other's arms, kisses shared, erasing harms. Tears of joy, love shining bright, vowing never to part, in each other's sight. As they gazed into each other's eyes, a spark ignited between them. Their connection deepening, with every heartbeat, every breath. Under the blanket of the bright sky, their love blossomed. A love so pure, destined to withstand any test of time. From that blessed day, they swore, to stay together forevermore. Through trials and storms, hand in hand, their love enduring, like grains of sand.
