Urban Legends - Horror

Urban Legends - Horror

A Story by The_Ancient_Rock
"

Horror.

"

I want to talk about the Hat man...

The weird one, the shadow man…

The shadow men, shadow people,

Through the wall they creep…

Many see them,

by the corner of the eye,

Many relates of ‘em…

Must be no lie…

The Hat man…

A terrible fiend…

With fiery eyes…

This shadow robs kin.

He creeps into children’s rooms,

Truly another boogey man…

The way he shows up, looms,

Children hide under covers,

pray for help the best they can.

Then he snatches one more away…

And parents cry, and pray, and pray.

Hat men… child snatcher…

La lloronna is not a matcher.

Yeah… shadow people…

Creeping through the walls,

Is it conceivable?

A dark shadow, falls.

There are many,

of these Urban Myths.

And there are many creeps.

One does… as he see fits.

Let’s see more…

The 1962 Halloween massacre.

The 2016 clown sightings.

The baby-sitter and the man upstairs.

The Bandage Man.

The Beast of Bladenboro.

The Beast of Bodmin Moor.

The Beast of Exmoor.

The Bell Witch.

Jarrell Bettis.

Bigfoot.

The Black Angel.

Black Annis.

The Black Lady of Bradley Woods.

Black Volga.

Black-eyed children.

Bloody Mary.

Boo hags.

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall.

Mercy Brown.

Bunny Man.

Chupa-cabra.

Just to name a few…

Superstition?

Some maybe…

Non-fiction…

For those who see.

Many strange things in our world…

And not everything that shines is gold,

It wasn’t enough with all the plain Human creeps…

We need some entities or a Jack that reaps.

Or some other, supernatural  freaks…

Yes… I do like, urban legends...

Myths, folklore…

It’s fun man…

Me too my friend. I like the urban legends. New movie, not as good, as the older ones. Mary Worth, don't say three times. Don't say Candyman, three times. I did enjoy the poetry and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I enjoyed the eeriness of this piece. It really does set the tone for the entire poem. It left me wondering what twit or turn would happen on the next line. Keep up the great writing. Perfect for October/ Halloween season.

Me, I don't really pay much attention to urban legends anymore; mostly because it brings back some old memories I wish to keep hidden. But I can see what you're doing with this piece, and the wording is intriguing.

It just reminds me of "The Hound of Baskerville " by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. That is based on the legend and a gothic, detective novel. I just in love with that. The similar is your work.

Good one:)

There are some literary blogs/online magazines that cater to horror but not something I read or write for.

My advice is to read what is being published and honestly compare it to your own. Then try to write something as good or better.
