Kill for love.

 

What is it that drives Human beings to kill one another?

People may kill for a variety of reasons…

Self defense

Money

 Jealousy

Betrayal

Revenge

Fear

Pleasure of the thrill

Prejudice

Political views

Religion

Law

Patriotism

Friendship

Sex

Family

Or Love…

 

We all know that killing is wrong. Normal regular people usually don’t think or try to avoid such a thing… unless pushed over the edge.

Thou shall not kill! One of the ten commandments.

But we must consider that Man is a sort of predator in a way… not only to our own race but to other species as well.

Human kind has many predators of different kinds… And some of these predators are killers.

A psychopath may kill for pleasure, or a quick thrill, or compulsion…

A sociopath may kill because of estrangement and society rules, behaviors, laws.

Some take pleasure in killing children.

Police may kill to keep the law and order.

A gangster, may kill for the money, or several reasons.

Scared people, may kill because they fear others and see them as some sort of menace.

And… one may kill because of friendship, family or love.

 

Maybe no reason is right… or makes it right. However certain reasons seem a bit nobler than others… and less wicked, maybe even justified to a certain level and degree.

 

Some things in life can be… ugly and despicable.

Certain actions or attitudes like for example placing a bet on another person’s life.

Even if that person may have some fault in other things.

But… such is the world we live on… and people are people… and sometimes they are selfish.

It is a wicked world.

It can drive some people to certain wicked actions… at times.

 

People kill people. Basic animal predatory instinct…    

 

Kill for any reason.

 

Kill for love…

Indeed... Your words are very wise...

And I agree with them...

After the episode about my child...

It got me to think why some Human beings murder anothers in cold blood.

Of course my Dear one... love never inspires to kill... at least not our loved ones... never!

We want them to be safe, happy, secure, protected...

But we must consider... how about when the ones that we love so very deeply...

Are hurt or even murdered, by others?

How can I ever forgive something like that?

Darling... I'm just not that good...

Even though I always try to be good and kind to the ones that are good and kind to me...

But that's a different subject... entirely.

A bit of rationalization about the shadows that reside in the murderers souls.

It's just got me thinking...

What really are the motives that can make some people kill others...

I think of all the mass shootings that keep happening.
When we hunt animals, it is for sport.
But now, for some, hunting humans, or just finding groups and killing them is sport.
I think it is like the Most Dangerous Game only worse.
I pray it stops, but I know better.
A very thought provoking write here.

Thank... yes all the shootings and other atrocities was one of the things that drove me to write this poem.

As you... I'm praying for all that to stop.

If we are gonna ever be successful... that's another story.

enjoyed the read very thought provoking indeed. As I would understand it killing for love would be killing to prevent harm (death) to someone a person loves. However, Euthanasia would be killing someone you love because of love, I suppose. not really sure how I feel about that, but I understand the concept. Not sure if that is how you intended it or not. / Then (opinion ahead - spoiler alert ) ....pretty complete list of reasons and I think you are correct - it's a wicked world - but acknowledging the current state of things and man's predator nature, we must also hope and work for, if not a new, then a better reality. Otherwise we are guilty of surrender at the least to man's lower nature or perhaps to the killers among us. Thanks for the post - made me think, -carl

I gotta say, I've thought of the true morality stance of murder multiple times (although being a person who believes that no moral is necessarily correct; that it varies on the cultural & psychological traits of oneself, it kinda messes with my own philosophy), but I never really thought of it as a natural thing adapted by our sense to kill other animals. Pretty interesting. 😗
