I look into your eyes

You into mine

Wondering if you still care

I know she’s bin saying things

Since I’ve had to take my leave

She gives me that evil eye

And you grow wary

You’ve bin there for me

What has changed?

Before I left

I thought you understood

that I had to go

You had never judged me

took me for who I was

What has changed?

Every time she comes around us,

you grow quiet,

your eyes go down to the grown,

you act as if I’m not there,

then as soon as she leaves you change.

What happened?

What does she have on you?

Now it pains to be back

 

I look into your eyes

I turn and look her square in the eye

I turn and make my leave

 

A heavy hart at best

I turn for a brief moment.

I see her on the grown

You running towards me

 You grab my arm

And beg me to stay

But can I?

I see the look in your eye

Since the day I had to leave.

Love and pain is what I see

 

You hold me in your arms

You haven’t held me so tenderly

In such a long time.

I am now home.

And it no longer pains me to be back.
