"

this is a true story about men in ww2. my grandpa was amonge one of the few to come out alive. they were told chances coming out alive was 10%. but about 3,000 men volinered only bout 300 came out.

"

Merrill's Marauders

have you ever heard of them?

they fought in Bruma, India

cleared the roads

so the chineas could get supplies

keaping them in the war

3,000 men all volintered

not knowing what they were volintering for

they went into Bruma

into the unknown

and only about

300 came out alive

brave men

that you probly never heard of

some people don't bleave they exsited

for you can not find these brave men in a compleat WWII history book

they were General Merrill's men

they existed

they didn't just fight the enemy

they were fighting: leaches, illnesses, woons, malnureshment, exsution, and so much more

they were brave men

that you never heard of

they did not get much media attention

my grandfather was one of the few 300 men that came out alive

they were brave men

now you can't say you never heard of the Merrill's Marauders

Grandpa would be real proud of what you have written here. Even prouder to know that the legacy he has left behind has not gone to someone who does not appreciate what he has done for our Country. In fact, you do him GREAT honor and respect - so much so that I am proud that you are my daughter, and a good person. And I am certain that having the Grandpa you have actually had something to do with that fact.

I like learning about wars (and history in general) and I haven't heard of them. I'm glad that you wrote a story... though I think this is more of a poem... to inform people about. Way to go.
