All She Can Do Is...

she stays in her room

day in and day out

she has the tv turned up

to drowned out the noise

at 6pm it'll start again

voices will rise

doors will slam

and all she can do

is site up in her room

and lissen

to the cursing

rissing voices

doors slaming

and all she can do is

turn up the tv

and lissen

just lissen

thats all she can do

she knows not to interfear

it'll only make it worse

all she can do

is lissen

just lissen

I think that the majority of kids, teens, and preteens go through this. At least with fighting parents. You catch, I think, how a girl reacts. Not all the way, but you still did. If I was to make any suggestion, it would be to expand it to another poem, and include all the feelings this girl would feel. I'm just saying...

i really dont care about spelling, all i care for in a poem is content. this poem is beautiful yet so sad. it really makes you think about what some kids have to go through, fighting, cursing, an all around distressing subject, but still you adressed it so creatively and emotionally.
