The firesideA Poem by Perry N AdaminorStories and views of different people, are shared around the fireside, I want to welcome you to my side of the story, welcome to my fireside
remember those lonely days, mama would draw me in close, and just as the sun touched the hems of the mountains, and the brilliant rays broke through the clouds, as if announcing it’s departure, she’d ask me to bring out the wood and the chairs, I knew where we’d be going that night, into the lands of mystery, hope, darkness and magic. But this night, it was different, the stars had aligned themselves in a manner only the maestros of astrology could tell what secrets lay behind their curtains of light, this night I caught a glimpse of truth.
Destiny always presented itself before man, but free will decided our fate, today I sat on the fence of life, and saw beneath me fate and destiny meet, and amidst the thin line I saw free will. Tonight, I remember all the stories told to me when I was young, I was reminded of one thing, not the monotonous chirping of the crickets, or the screeching of a falcon far away, but of the heroes I had been told of, I remember the warmth I’d felt and the sense of dawning and perception anew, At the fireside, there is always something to learn, at the fireside, dreams became stories and stories became history, at the fireside… © 2015 Perry N AdaminorAuthor's Note
