Yellow Shirt

Yellow Shirt

A Poem by Perkele

Leslie wore a grey shirt
Morning night and noon
She'd wake up looking gloomy
In a happy colored room

Her hair all black and mangled
Her eyes are black and blue
From the beatings that she'd give herself
From here back to the moon

She always skipped her dinners
And her suppers were a bust
She rarely ate a thing
And cried her tears to dust.

The school says she should get some help
the doc says he can't give
her mom proposed a psyche ward
A mental place to live

Where bars on windows kept her in
To keep the thoughts away
A friend brought her a yellow shirt...
She'd hope to wear someday

Depression is one awful disease. Thankfully, medication can control it.
