Turning Back

Turning Back

A Poem by Perdition

Torn aside, you walk the lace in crescent moon at three a.m, I am still falling, you pass me by, I turn to your laurel lips, curving hips pressed as something inside me dies, somehow, whenever you're near, whenever I hear you smile, whenever these wanting hands guide me slowly, as your silence speaks from time to time again, time when ours was skin on skin, when the well in me was just to hear your voice, when the wish for seaman to break the sea, turning back I will search perhaps the last of winters for my lace that rained late silver blue.

If I pass by you, Perdition, I shall never pass you by.
Your voice speaks volumes without your lips moving.
The subject of your passion is, indeed, my envy.
The silver blue of your memory is my forever design.
This is so beautiful. Just beautiful.

The well of words you draw from to fine tune what you are feeling is an inaccessible place, that most of us can only wish to venture into. It's been a while. Welcome back, Joseph!

...thank you, darlin. Be safe, hurry back and have a happy hearts day!
What a great write, emotions were felt throughout your poem.

This poem reflects on the emotional impact of a loved one, evoking feelings of nostalgia and yearning.

The imagery of the crescent moon and lace suggests fragility and beauty, emphasizing the fleeting nature of love and the pain of separation. Also the use of alliteration in phrases like "whenever you're near" and "silence speaks" enhances the musical quality of the poem...

Your poem captures the universal experience of longing for someone who has had a profound impact on one’s life, evoking empathy in us readers. Thanks for sharing such an authentic poem.

You're welcome, that's okay, keep good.
there is such a sensual nature to this poem...I knew a woman once...it was a very romantic and sensual relationship...but the long distance made it go asea and the ship got lost.

And in the bottle adrift, no land was found nor wished for centuries..thanks J.
This reminds me of someone who is traveling through past adventures of the heart and mind; of a love. It comes creeping in under a moonlit sky.
