More than just a life

More than just a life

A Poem by Perdition

There was a life I recall, it was more than just a page, more than just the wild nature of youth.  More than just hands fevered into sunlight, ions peaked from ions crumbled. A place I still remember.  A time when there was time enough, spring from the lilacs bloomed in the honey bee eyes. There was still life enough to be sowed, reckless, we could find new words in the slight of lulls and slow afternoons as if ours was never worse, and every goodnight spoke conundrum, every thought held its choice. We curved out old beginnings. Tied up, rivet, melting spikes.  Don’t speak otherwise, don't believe it so unique that the lies can live twice their length of truth. Just say your goodbye.
The sound of life is a river and I don't remember the doldrum of this jungle when all was once to the minute.

I want to recline "in the slight of lulls". How divine. How sublime. This slow dance, soft romance was like lifting my face to a sunbeam. If I read your poetry daily, no anxiety could ever find me.

Well, that wouldn't be any fun at all. Go easy and pace yourself. Above all, write.
