Cricket

Cricket

A Poem by Perdition

I think I've finally fallen into it

or maybe I've just gone mad

Maybe I've just become the reflection of

this cricket

The chirping ancillary

water sounds

Beads of will-berries

beads of silkworm

Drooped leaflets swirling

I think I may have finally gone mad

reached far further than I should have

But, perhaps

maybe not far enough

Maybe I've only caught a glimpse

into the long-legged carcass of this cricket

Perhaps these chirping water sounds

beads of priests in kneeless ancillaries

Not large enough to

fill the oceans

Not sound enough to

fill this silence

But then

one good honest rain oughta do it

I've sought you in the doldrums. Here you are waiting for rain and I for wind. I'm leaning into the ancillary, listening for the chirping and squinting for the beads.
But perhaps
one perfect storm will right us both
